Originally constructed in the late 1950s and representing an early example of cavity wall construction, the building is a reinforced concrete high-rise residential tower and parking structure that also features building lintels that are discontinuous and are only present at windows and other fenestration. WDP was initially retained in 2007 to perform an evaluation of the building consistent with the requirements of NYC Local Law 11, Cycle 6.  Since then, WDP has assisted the client perform a condition assessment, as well as repair recommendations/design.  Based upon the results of the evaluation, WDP prepared design documents to address items identified in the NYC Local Law 11 evaluation and other building façade problems.  Independent of the façade repairs, WDP evaluated corrosion of reinforcing steel on the building terrace soffit and developed repair documents to address the deterioration.  WDP conducted bid solicitation and assisted the contractor selection and construction administration for repair implementation for the residential building as well as the parking structure.
